Day 3 - First night in a tent
After a night in a motel in Malahat I decided to go to Shawnigan Lake, but... I had a few kilometers left on a highway and it was raining, visibility like 100m, fog... I decided to wait a few hours and as a result I left my room around 1 pm. That day was crazy and lazy. I didn`t really walk, just stay somewhere and sleep.
I got to the intersection, highway and Shawingan Lake Road, you know what, I had to cross it!!! No lights for pedestrians!!!! Oh my f********g god!!!!!
So I did it and went on a smaller roa, I was walking really guickly, making more and more kilometers. It was raining again! Second day with no second without rain! I had a bed feelings, I had dinner in forrest. You know what, I didn`t even heat water, I just added cold one to the freeze dried food. It was raining, cold, wind, some hart times...
I don`n know how but the sun went down realy quickly. I had a long way around Shawingan Lake, it was raining, low visibility, what the f**k?? Again?? Tired, exhausted I knocked to someone`s door just to get some water. I still had like 21 in my camelback, but I didn`t want to waste it. Canadians are the best people in a world! I asked for water, they wanted to invite me inside, I refused since I wanted to continue. I had a good pace. I drunk 1l water straight (like vodka hehehe). They gave me pizza! Wow, the best thing I ever had! Broccoli, mushrooms, chicken, pineapple, something amazing!
I found the intersection with some other road, that was my checkpoint, and I should have headed to a city but... LOW VISIBILITY, DARKNESS, RAIN!!! AGAIN!!! I just went off the road, there were some flat terrain and I made a camping. My tent was outside of my back pack so I didn't have to take out everything. Can you imagine this feeling? Just in a few moments I will be "home". I put everything inside, closed a cover. I was safe. I took out my shoes and started to open my backpack. The organization was crazy for the first time but I did it. I took out the mattress to sit comfortably, I did what I had to do, changed my clothes to dry one, took out my sleeping bag with a liner and finally, dry and hot!!
I was listening to the music and went to bed...
