Day 4 - Glenora Farm and Kinsol Trestle

In the morning I realized it was raining, but it wasn't something terrible. I had a great breakfast, turkeey with some vegies, of course it was freeze dried. First camp during my walk was over and hapilly no bad surprises. I had a good sleep, comfortable and warm and relatively dry. Morale was ok, today I planed a very interesting route so it should be interesting.

I was heading towards Kinsol Trestle Bridge, you know, some historic bridge here in Cowichan Valley. In the morning I spent a lot of time to prepare everything, more than usual, you know, all this organization, cleaning the campsite, I wanted to sleep a little bit longer etc.As a result I started about noon, firstly on a paved road but after a moment I saw a trail toward tthe bridge. On a trail I met a lot of people, I gave stickers, I told about my project and few of these people wrote me after that! Thanks a lot! Now, let's talk about what is important. I saw a bridge after 1-2km of walk, the weather was getting better, sometimes I could see the sun! But the moisture was everywhere, it is really something bad, no air to breathe. Wet clothes stay wet all the time, this humidity was soething unusual for me!

Kinsol Trestle - wooden briddge in Cowichan Valley on Vancouver Island. It provides spectacular pass over Koksilah River. 44m high and 188 long. In my opinion it's great! Walking in this area is relaxing, the trails is well maintained, there is a lot of people and a lot of fun!

I was continuing on Cowichan Valley Trail, it was really well maintained, flat and with a good surface to walk. But the distance was quite nice. I knew I am not gonna make a lot of kilometers that day ssince I started late. In the morning I consumed almost all of my water and I knew I have to find it quickly and....what a surprise! Just next to the trail there were a creek so I had a chane to use Life Straw for the first time to purify water. You never know, it looks clean, but it might contain some bacterias. Diarrhoea would be very dangerous in a forest. o the water I had was pure, safe and refreshing! The day was really good but after some time my heeels started to hurt me...

And I was walking an walking, around me I saw some crops, some mountains, you know, some specific rural-mountain landscape. Right before sunset I got to the intersection with some paved road and there were a sign........ STORE 1,8km. Wonderful news! I decidedto go there, why not??!! This was my chance to resupply. It was getting dark really soon, and this short road was longer and longer every minute. My mood went down, why it took so long?? Finally I arrived there. Coke to give me sugars, orange juice because I wanted and a fresh chocolate cake. Wonderful! I was talking with people, and you know, somehow the conversation turned into my night in a tent. As I realized later it was a smal town and people kneww each other! And this way I was invited for a night at Glenora Farm.

I was welcomed by a nice owner of the farm and I was invited for a dinner. Do you know this feeling? This happiness? Steak with fries, salad, I didn't have to be woorried about water. I was talking with everyone, they asked me about my plans, about my walk across Canada, really nice! Later I realized I am gonna sleep in a cabin, and I spend a night in a bed and I was safe, no troubles with my tent, sleeping bad, I was in a cabin! I had water, electricity and dry bed!

I was working a little bit, I made a few movies, I wrote something in my journal, you all know how it is. I need to work a lot, not only walk but also update my website. Someone must do it. When someone writes bad things I am angry to madness! I am doing this walk for myself! I decided to share some part with you and I hope you enjoy everything!

Special thanks to Glenora Farm, after a rainy days I had a chance to dry my clothes, eat something really good and I had a warm, dry and safe bed. That's all about I was dreaming!
