Day 8 - Visiting Whistler
A little bit confused, because I didn't know where I was, I woke up at a new place. Mr Janusz along with his wife (gorgeous family!) have already served breakfast. Palce lizać!(Delicious?). It was difficult for me to move for me due to the fact that my muscles were still stiff after the night. For this day I was planning to just wind down a bit. However, it is still important to remember not to overdo the whole relax thing. We also had to check the gear and prepare for the trip to Rocky Mountains, because safety here is no joke.
Till morning up to 1pm I was working. I had to do something with all these photos, movies and the journal, and as everybody knows, it's a time-consuming task. Still, it was quite a fun, recovering the memories of the whole journey.
For the afternoon we've planned something extra - a trip to Whistler. I've always dreamed about visiting this place - all in all it is an olimpic city. For a reminder, Vancouver - Whistler were organising winter olimpics in 2010 (for me, these were the best of all!
We didn't have to travel much, only about 50km by a car. As we were driving, we could admire the views. Mountains, forests, valleys, rocks and all the stuff i really like. I was as excited as a child before Christmas - I have always wanted to take a glance at this part of Canada!
When we entered the town, I must admit it had a quite appealing atmosphere. However after a closer look you could see that it was all concentrated at the tourists. You could live here, but sadly not for long, because after some time life here might become dull and boring. We've left our car as fast as possible and left for sightseeing. You can see ski slopes all around, everyone's having fun. There's a lot of culinary attractions, sport shops, jewelers- you can say the whole city smells commerce-like. Of course in a methaphorical sense, because the air is quite clean.
A small amount of footage about what i remember can be seen on my movie, so don't be afraid and click that play button.
When we were coming back there were also a few places worth mentioning. For example Squamish is the outdoor capital of Canada and at the same time the nest of the eagles - there's the biggest amount of eagles in Canada here(and maybe even i the America!). There is a lot of trails, mountains and in a lot of places you can see eagles in their natural habitat (however we didn't have luck and didn's see any). Whistler may be famous all around the world, but it's Squamish which has pleased my senses more. I could even have one of my manors here. In my opinion it's a small town with an inspiring atmosphere and breathtaking lanscapes all around.
The whole day of relaxing was ended by work. I had to review all the files, but it was worth it. As always, I had trouble falling asleep later, only about 2am I was able to rest.
