Day 20 - Camping next to gas station
I had troubles to leave the house I was sleeping, I don't know why but sometimes I have this kind of problems! I was heading towards Hope and I knew it would take 2 days. My backpack is s heavy, I have so much food inside! I was walking for 10km on Yale Road which I found hard, my muscles had to adapt quickly to the heaviest backpack I was carrying recently. I arrived to the intersection of Hwy 1 and Hwy 9, there I spent some time at Tim Hortons, I didn't sleep well and I had troubles to walk!
Ok, I'm doing I said to myself. I put my orange safety vest and I was walking and walking on a shoulder of the road but than I arrived to the bridge, OMG it was extremely dangerous! No sidewalk at all, the bridge wasn't wide. I think drivers could see me but it took me like 30min to go through, every step was difficult and I had to thin twice! I fnally arrived to Agassiz, it was dark and it was raining, I was heading towards a RV stop and a gas station 10km past Agassiz.
It was difficult, I was afraid to walk, you always think if the drivers can see you. I had all my lights on! I saw a sign: 2km RV stop and gas station, but it was the longest 2km ever, I think I was walking slowly so I decided to stop there for a night. Very bad gas station, local one owned by Indians. It was Indian reservate and it was a scary experience to sleep there, even when I informed the security I will put my tent there! I bought few things at the store, I got hot water for my lasagne and I went to my tent, I was scary but I was sleeping.
