Day 15 - Terry Fox and Canadian Polish Congress
After a night in a house of a member of Polish Sailing Club in Vancouver I knew I had to go and "eat" another kilometers of my journey. I prepared all my equipment to go, I dried everything, but I had so much work to do! I had to prepare all the maps, be mentally ready to go, it was a lot of work for me!
This day we decided to go and see Terry Fox's grave in Port Coquitlam, BC. Canadian student that was running across Canada on a artificial leg. He was in my age! What is exceptional in Terry? He had cancer, artificial leg and he was able to do that marathon! He started in St John's, NL and he had to stop in Thunder Bay, ON as the cancer spread to his lungs.
After that, around 4pm I arrived to the place I stopped last time and I started walking. I had a terrible problems with my stomach, nothing interesting and painfull. It was really difficult to walk...
I crossed Pattullo Bridge, than some scary small city and I arrived to Fraser Highway. It was really comfortable to walk, there were a sidewalk mostly everywhere. It was raining but I had my rain poncho. It was dark, but after last improvements I had a lot of reflective tapes on me so everyone could see me!
I contacted some person from Canadian Polish Congress in BC and I was invited for a night! Now I'm next to Langley and it's really good. Honestly, I would have to find a motel if I were not invited for a night, it's impossible to camp in a city! Vancouver has large suburbs, especially east from downtown so the direction I was heading.
Ok, now it's 1:23am and I'm tired. I hope you enjoy my journals beause I work hard so you can read them!
